Spectrum of Care considerations in Feline Practice: Making Veterinary Care Accessible
August 6, 2024 - 8:00 pm EDT

Speaker: Ryane Englar, DVM, DABVP (Canine/Feline)

Cats require as much veterinary care as other companion animals, yet their presence is not always felt in the clinic setting. Getting them in to see us can feel a lot like herding cats, which is frustrating for us and impactful to their health. This session will introduce socioeconomic, geographic, knowledge-based, and other barriers to accessible veterinary care for feline patients and provide tangible solutions for addressing each.

Catering To Your Client's Clowder: Balancing Diverse Nutritional Needs in a Multicat Household
September 17, 2024 - 8:00 pm -9:30 pm EDT

Speaker: Margie Scherk, DVM, DABVP (Feline)
How does one logically approach feeding the multicat household in which different cats have differing nutritional requirements? We'll review what is special about cats from a nutritional perspective and briefly review the rationale and evidence behind therapeutic diets. This session will give practitioners the tools to set about solving this challenge in a straight-forward fashion by determining which of the cats is most fragile nutritionally and how to use characteristics of different cats to facilitate tailored feeding.
